Why can't i get my bread to go right???
Bought a MR bread maker a couple of weeks ago but not having much luck with the loaves. Aiming to make a basic white loaf following the recipe in the instructions received with the BM. 1st attempt was very dense and stodgy in texture and tasted very sweet. 2nd attempt was more airy and kind of like crumpet texture. BREVILLE BR9 Bread Maker - Anyone got one?
The Breville BR9 Bread Maker is currently half price in Currys (£44.99). Does anyone have one? Is it any good? I want to get a Panasonic really but funds won't allow at the moment, so I'm wondering if this is a good alternative. Sorry to start a new thread on Breadmakers but any advice would be mostly appreciated.

Green Finger Wannabe
Hi all, I would like to start growing my own fruit and veg, but am completely new to gardening. Soooo, I was wondering if anyone could answer a couple of questions for me. 1) Am I too late to plant anything this year? 2) Can you recommend a good book for my needs? 3) Do I need a green house, and if so, would something like…

Upside down tomato planter
I found this brilliant idea whilst brousing a few sites about growing veges. It's an upside down tomato planter, made from an old 2ltr coke bottle. I though this is great, and for those who don't have much space is an excellent idea. I've already got my main tomatoes out side, but I was thinking about having a go with mu…

On today's shopping trip, amongst other things, I bought celeriac and a ginea fowl, both of which I've never tried before. What to do with ginger nuts?
I have about three quarters of a packet of ginger nut biscuits left over from a camping trip. I really don't want to throw them away. I'm sure there must be something I can do with them - maybe a cheesecake style base? I have lots of jelly in stock too so maybe something using that would be good.

Or would i end up burning the house down? I would be grateful…
