does anyone know how to spin sugar ?

I am trying to make small towers made from caramalised sugar to go over individual desserts. Someone told me to spin the sugar over a wooden spoon but then I can't get it off, any suggestions please ?

Never done it myself, but from what I've seen on TV, don't you have to oil the spoons? If you're already doing that I apologise !You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0

If you cover an orange half with cling film and stick it on a fork to hold it you can flick the sugar over to make a caramel cage to go on top of your pud0
