Microfibre Floor Mop

Ok guys - this maybe a silly question so bear with me please:o

I remember reading somewhere about a microfibre floor mop so I saw one in Home Bargains yesterday and bought one. Now I just love the cloths, so I am sure I am going to love the mop. Now my question is - if you use it wet, then how do you squeeze the excess moisture out and then rinse the soap/dirt off:confused:

The mop is like a glove over a flat plastic plate thingy so I can't see it being an easy job.

I hope someone can help here cos I'm so looking forward to a nice clean kitchen floor very soon:rolleyes:

I think you use it damp - what about a hand sprayer with water in or water and vinegar to spray the floor and then mop it up nice and clean?

I use my old Swiffer mop in the same way, I bought a microfibre cloth and tucked it into the holes to make a flat microfibre mop.

What I do is put some diluted stardrops into a spray bottle and actually spray the floor and then mop it with a dry mop. It works beautifully and is really easy to clean up.

Hi 1sttimer, the plastic plate thingy should have a button or a catch to allow it to fold over, making it easy to take off the mop sleeve? I bought mine from Poundstretcher and it does this.

At any rate, if you use it wet you shouldn't have to rinse it out too often. Maybe use a dilute solution of Stardrops so the soap doesn't need to be "washed off"?

I bought one from Home Bargains as well a while back. Like Hitchhiker says, there is a black catch that you depress and the microfibre sleeve comes off. I use it wet, i.e soak in a Stardrops solution and wring it out and then pop it in the washing machine when done.

I also have a small mini one that I bought in Dunelm - that is more like the Swiffer where you push the pad into little holes. That is great for the bathroom floor which is tiled and seems to attract loads of hairs and dust however much I clean it.
The microfibre pad just picks up all the hairs a treat and I then wet the pad and wash the floor. Because it's a small mop thing, it folds down enough to keep in the bathroom, and that encourages me to use it more often!!!

Hi, I bought a microfibre mop from pound stretchers and love it.
I just take the cloth off of the mop head and pop it into the washing machine. Some times i just wash it by hand and hang out on the line to dry.
Hope that is what you wanted to know Sanya 1995

Well thanks everyone:beer: I've now got one nice clean kitchen floor. :j

I found a small problem with the mop handle though. You have to extend the handle, but it didn't stay extended so every now and then it started to collapse! I also find that it is quite short for me (I'm 5'4") so I ended up bending over quite a lot and this morning I've ended up with a back problem! (I do have a weak back anyway and this set it off again:eek: )

But I must say it did work a treat and will use it again. I have a longer handle from a Betterware ceiling brush I bought years ago so I'll see if the screw fixing is the same.
