Washing powder v liquid or tablets
We've had a problem with the outlet pipe that takes the water away from the washing machine. Hubby had to take it apart and it was clogged with gunk, some of it had dried and then shifted to block the pipe which meant water backed up and flooded the floor. Is this gunk powder residue? Just wondering what I can do to…

Reduce water flushed from toilet
After reading the No Waste Like Home thread I was shocked to see how much water was wasted by flushing the toilet, which seemed pretty unavoidable. I'm not sure how much people would appreciate you 'saving' yours for the next flush  So I did a search and found this, may be worth a try? Would save loads of water…

Pizza Stone help required
Yesterday at Aldi's I bought a pizza stone for £2.99 it came with a cutter and a slice so seemed good value. Has anyone used a pizza stone? There were no instructions with it so am not sure if it needs greasing before use, like a metal tray. Presumably you have to leave the pizza to rise on it first (if using a yeast…

Help with cinnamon!
I wanna make some cinnamon and raisin bread and I thought I had all the ingredients but I've just realised the cinnamon is in stick form* and might be a bit heavy going on the old gnashers if I chuck it in like that! Just wondered if it is possible to pulverise it somehow and if it would end up just like the powdered…

Thomson and Morgan are giving away a free vegetable seed collection worth £7.99 with purchases over £12.99 http://potatoes.thompson-morgan.com/uk/en/ There's also quite a bit of general info on the site though I'll admit to only having had quick skim…

Lemon Marmalade
Hello all, my friend has a lemon tree bursting with fruit and has no inclination to use it, so I have nicked several kilos worth of lemons from it. Pickled Onion recipe...
I spotted some pickling onions today and thought I'd make a start on getting some done however...the pickling vinegar section was empty. Obviously there's been a rush on it but you think they may have anticipated it and got some extra stocks in ready so I put the onions back and will try again in a few days. I know I could…
