Who are the most competitive insurance companies offering house insurance within Northern Ireland? I was with Hughes, however their premium has almost doubled despite having no claims on the policy.

Flying from Dublin - Travel Insurance
We've a trip to Finland in the near future, I was looking into travel insurance this morning using TopCashBack but the policies I have checked state they are only valid if flying from a UK airport. Where can I get travel insurance if I am flying from/returning to Dublin? Thanks.

Anyone here in Northern Ireland been successful in opening an M&S account?
I have successfully switched to every account offering a bonus but M&S. They have been the only bank to reject me and my wife. I then heard from a friend that he too was rejected. I've started to wonder if perhaps they simply don't want Northern Irish customers? Has anyone been successful in getting an account with them?

How much gas do you use a year?
We're going to get gas installed soon and are struggling to decide between a prepayment meter or a credit meter. With SSE: The pay and go rate is 3.693p per kWh And their domestic tariff is: 5.445p for the first 2,000 kWh and then 3.732p for anything over 2,000 kWh. So I'd need to use 7000 kWh or more a year to make the…

Proms in the park 2017
Has anyone else applied for these this year and if so, have you heard anything yet? Given we're just about 2 weeks away, I thought I would have heard either way by now (although, fully expecting it to be a no, given I've received a no in each of the last 5 years...)

Council Vs private sector wwyd?
I need some assistance from the collective wisdom of the local board. I applied (on a whim) for a local council job which came up a few months ago. I was unsuccessful but shortlisted on the reserve list. They have now contacted me to say a position has come up. It is a SO2 level role (not quite sure where that falls in the…

Flying to LA via Dublin
Booked the flights via expedia and selected BA for all bits of it. Dublin to Heathrow is actually done by aerlingus. When we drop our cases in Dublin to they transfer them from plane to plane in heathrow or do we have to do that? We've just under 2 hours between flights so, although it's all within terminal 2, there's not…

Where to take old oil boiler?
I have an old domestic oil boiler out in the shed. Would anyone know where to dispose of this? I think I recall reading somewhere that the council's normal bulky waste collection service does not cover these. Thanks.

Any stories, rants, bragging...? DS has just got his A1s and been "recommended" to switch out Biology and do Further Maths instead (apparently his Biology A-grade wasn't as good a score as his other As... :wall:). So choices, Drop the biology (and don't replace). Replace biology with f. maths. Carry on with the original…

What does a seller have to disclose about their property in Northern Ireland?
I am confused as to whether a seller in Northern Ireland needs to disclose information that may impact a buyers decision. Would the seller have to disclose the following: An ongoing neighbour dispute over damaged fence? Leak in roof space that they would have known about as planks put beneath leak? A leaking hot water tank…

Parking Charge Notice (PCN)
Does anyone know if these are enforceable? It is for parking over the "maximum 1 hour free parking" at a shop car park in Ballymena. It was a genuine mistake, although this is no excuse I know. I thought as long as i shopped in the shop that I could park there over the hour. In total, I was parked for 1hr 42mins 50secs. It…
