Contacting drivethedeal
I've submitted a quote request to drivethedeal a week ago with only an auto-response, no price. Does anyone know any emails drivethedeal publish for queries? Or a web form. Getting rather fed up wasting time on phone calls with a variety of places I'm getting quotes on - fine for the last stage but not when researching.

Car dealer backs out of deal
I purchased a new car on Saturday. I spent hours on the phone on and off checking the spec etc and they gave me a good price and monthly PCP rate. I got them to double check all the extras were in the quote and the price was correct. So I paid a deposit. They record all phone calls so everything I discussed will be on…

Careless driving after a crash
I have noticed that drivers, more often than not, don't get any sort of driving conviction after crashing their vehicle, even when the police are aware. Am I right in thinking that, for minor crashes? I get my opinion from watching endless TV cop programs :) Here is a quote from the BBC about Tiger Woods crash ""A reckless…

Insurance and change of employment status during term
Looking at renewal quotes for car insurance for my son who is currently at University but finishes this year. He finishes this year so the answer to one of the questions changes from 'Undergraduate Full time living away' potentially to 'unemployed' about 2 months into the policy. I suspect that this change might invalidate…

Frequent MOTs
Just looking at second hand cars and checking MOT histories. Just found 2 that have had very frequent MOTs. About 10 in their first 3 years. First one with less than 200 miles on the clock. Then every few months. Does anyone know the explanation?

RAC complaint - serious car damage
I'd like opinions please. In December 2020 I called RAC Breakdown from home because my car was idling rough, juddering, and making a knocking noise. The patrolman arrived and indicated it could be a faulty injector. He advised me it was OK to drive it to the mechanic and he'd follow in case something happened. I drove the…

Would it be a terrible idea to buy a (diesel) banger for low mileage journeys?
My current car has died, at present I'm working from home and getting online food shopping. I hadn't driven my old car for 6 weeks and in the last 7 months since it had it's MOT I've done 600 miles. When I did use the car regularly 99% of my journeys were under 5 miles. I'm looking to buy a banger with MOT that will…

Be wary of Honda’s service plans.
Be wary of Honda’s service plans. We bought a five-year service plan for £600 when we bought new Honda Jazz in 2018 (we planned to keep it for 5 years) - which seemed like a good deal. Unfortunately for health reasons my wife is unable to use the car now, so we have only used 2 years out of the 5 services included. So,…

Its that time of the year again and have been doing to comparison sites as usual. am getting quotes averaging about £220. Bought a death trap.
Bought a second hand car from a local trader,it appeared fine, had service history and 9 months MOT. As no expert on car booked it for a service and they have said it's not roadworthy, it has break and steering issues alongside other issues such as leaks, I haven't read the report this is just from a quick phonecall. We…

Insurance - can you avoid paying the "change of vehicle" fee?
So insurers typically charge an admin fee of £50 or more if you change your vehicle during the cover period. What I'm wondering is if you time it so that you change your vehicle just as the insurance expires, and renew on the new vehicle (with the same or different insurer) will you pay any 'change of vehicle' fee?(I know…
