    I do love an optimist.

There are no cheap vans currently.
Everybody + dog has been buying them for the last year either to go couriering or to convert to a camper.

Assuming that the OP does not need to drive into London, the OP may find the best opportunities are near London.

His budget is a long way south of the borders of Euro6, though.

    It's barely-MOTable shed territory.

What do you need it to do? A £2500 van is probably a large way to 200k already.
£2500 might get you a half decent box van style trailer, if you shop around a bit, but £2500 in an actual van is going to be awful.

Or a way past 200k.  As for no nightmares, buying a van at that level will make Chucky look like child's play

Does it do what you need? Will it pass an MOT in May?
  • I currently can't buy a nice low mileage van for less than 10K so I wish you luck OP.

Not if you are paying £2000 for 3 months use of a van, less what you get back scrapping it when you cost what needs doing- rot most likely.
If it was remotely likely to pass an MOT it would have 12 months on it, not 3.

Sight unseen, it is a £500 van. £1000 with a full MOT maybe..
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

"Tatty" for a 15yo Transit says "rotten".

Go on, post the plate, let's have a look at the MOT history...
