Where do I stand with this illegal ticket?
Any advice where I stand with this. Parked the works vehicle in a street in Hackney this week, paid the parking through the app on the sign next to the van. Recieved the receipt but subsequently come back to a fine. It seems they have put the sign on the wrong street, the sign relates to a street in South London. I…

Air-con refill from straight from a can?
Has anyone tried refilling their air-con from one of those top-up cans? I am a bit conceerned about whether it could overcharge the system and cause the compressor to fail. When using these top-up cans how does it decide when the system is full?

Bottled Gas
I have been told that service stations carry the adaptor to use to refill bottled gas from the autogas pumps. Is this so or do I have to purchase it online?

Low mileage battery problems
I only do 4000-5000 miles per year. This was never a problem with my previous cars. My old Corsa could sit for a fortnight in mid-winter and still start with no issues. This Volkswagen Up seems to have problems after a day or two. Yesterday it started ok but I only did a short journey. Today it had problems and took a…

Clutch/DMF and gearbox oil question
Our Audi A4 2003 had a new clutch and dual mass flywheel 2 years ago, and has done approx 5k miles since. It’s the 6 speed manual gearbox. Would the gearbox oil of been changed when the clutch and DMF was replaced? Or not necessarily? (Don’t fully understand what goes where etc and if it would be done as part of the clutch…

Incorrect DVLA refund amount
I recently bought a car for £500 and paid the full year's road tax (£145) on the same day. Three days later I returned the car as it had many faults - I got the full £500 back (but not, of course, the petrol and travel costs to and from collection and drop off, nor the insurance deposit and the one month's road tax - in…

Handbrake possible failure
Hello So, the other day I arrived at work, parked in the car park which has a slight slope facing downwards, applied the manual handbrake and put it in gear (presuming I did the last two as they are common practice). I am actually selling the car so at the end of the day, some 9 hours later, I'm showing a lad the car which…

Hi there, I am looking for some advice/reassurance. A week ago today I went through and amber traffic light and then once past it I looked behind me and realised there was a traffic light camera at said lights. Engine Management Light dashboard problem
I've just got a Ford Focus C max 2.0 TDCI 2005 but been having trouble with it ever since I got it. The guy I bought it from seemed very dodgy, but because it was going to be a temp. car, I got it and hoped it would be okay for a few months. The issue is that the car randomly stalls and won't rev/move, without any warning…

DVLA website tax status incorrect.
Hi all, last night I bought a car, a 2008 ford fiesta 1.6 Ghia, MOT'd until mid march, for the princely sum of £300, it's a lovely little car, however... The vehicle was as you'd expect, declared as off the road and had a SORN in place, and the dvla website reflected this, so last night I switched my insurance over, and…

Would it be foolish to pay for a vehicle before delivery?
I have a new work vehicle on order, being delivered in January. My company year end is December. Paying for it this month would be good for my tax bill, but is this even possible/a good idea?

Long distance driving approach
Hi guys, I'm increasingly covering longer distances with my driving, through work. I'm interested to hear people's different approaches to this; how to prepare, keep concentration whilst on the road etc. I take comfortable rental cars, so that side of things is not an issue. I use Google Maps for navigation so there is no…

Car collision liability help
I was in a car accident nearly 3 weeks ago with my other half in the car. We were driving down the A60 at 11pm, it is a dark road. The car in front indicated to turn right, slowed down and completed the turn. I was also turning right so indicated - nothing oncoming- and began to complete the turn as it was clear. At the…

Kia Sorento automatic transmission issue
I went to a Kia dealer to test drive a used automatic Kia Sorento KX-3, 2015. When I tried to shift the gear lever from Parking to Drive I couldn’t, it just wouldn't move. The sales person tried as well and couldn’t. Then a mechanic came and opened a little flap that covered a tiny hole next to the gear lever. He pushed a…
