I have been told that service stations carry the adaptor to use to refill bottled gas from the autogas pumps.

Is this so or do I have to purchase it online?

Some might. But not all, by any means. If you rely on it, good luck.

And you aren't meant to refill CG/Calor gas bottles, anyway - you rent the bottle from the supplier. If you want to refill at a pump, you're meant to do so into a fixed tank.

    Is this for a motorhome?

It is quoted that it is ok as long as only to 80% - it has also been said its cheaper there is no need to pay through the nose to the refill co s if you dont need to

...or convert the motorhome to a fitted, refillable tank.

Never mind "lend me the adaptor", if you can find a petrol station with an LPG pump who'll let you fill a CG or Calor bottle, I'll be utterly astonished.

There's a difference between MSE and dangerous penny-pinching lunacy.

A quick google doesn't even find the adaptors available for open sale. No great surprise. But I'm sure somebody could lash one up with a MIG, and old regulator and an ACME-bayonet adaptor.

Or have a look in the fruitier parts of the Balkans - people run cars on the big 47kg bottles lobbed loose in the boot over there, so they must be refilling 'em somewhere.

    What could possibly go wrong?
