Bottled Gas

Where are you getting your price per litre from then?
LPG/CG/Calor are all pretty much the same thing, a propane/butane mix. The only difference is that you're paying a bit of road fuel duty on it at the petrol station. I have a 1,400l tank of it in the back garden, too. That's about 35p/litre to fill.0 -
If you do it properly, you'll likely have a setup that looks like this, and you can have the gas entry point on the side of vehicle.
Calor and similar bottles are not designed to be user refillable. They don't have a safety/excess pressure valve, so the bottle needs to be weighed to work out how much gas is already in there, and then the right amount added. No fuel station operator is going to help you do something so stupid and dangerous.
I used to install vehicle LPG sytems in a previous life (fixed tanks) and they have a bleed valve like the one in the pic to ensure you only fill to 80%.....Calor etc dont0 -
Umm, you fill that tank at the LPG pump at the petrol station. Which is what the entire thread is talking about.

If I'd mentioned a Coleman stove, would I have been "comparing" against petrol as a road fuel?0

You would be better off comparing diesel and red diesel or maybe heating oil. Or the prices of mineral water and tap water. All are the same things priced differently due to their uses.0 -
No cos Coleman use butane/propane.0

Ah, you'd never come across a Coleman stove before. That's fair enough. Not everybody has.
This doesn't quite carry the full glory of a freshly lit one... By crikey, they're effective. But about as subtle as a fresh DM identity.
