Clutch/DMF and gearbox oil question

Our Audi A4 2003 had a new clutch and dual mass flywheel 2 years ago, and has done approx 5k miles since. It’s the 6 speed manual gearbox.
Would the gearbox oil of been changed when the clutch and DMF was replaced? Or not necessarily? (Don’t fully understand what goes where etc and if it would be done as part of the clutch replacement)
Thanks all in advance

Probably not unless you specifically asked for it to be done.0

Most likely as the driveshafts have to come out and the oil comes out with it. The garage would have had to be real cheapskates to re-use the old oil. Does your receipt include a charge for oil?0

5k in two years? Is it a diesel? DMF back then would suggest it is. Hopefully, it's pre-DPF...
I don't think the output shafts come out of the box with the driveshafts on these - VAG normally have permafitted output flanges with the shafts bolted to them, and a quick google image search suggests that's the case here, so there's no absolute certainty.
But the box oil won't affect the longevity or operation of the clutch and DMF - are there any symptoms that are making you wonder?0 -

I remember the shafts had to come out as my MOT guy commented and asked what had been done when it was up on his ramps last year
Cant find the reciept at the moment as in the middle of decorating0 -
They certainly have to come off. But I doubt the difference between simply being unbolted from fixed output flanges, and being splined straight into the box, would make the difference to such a comment.
This is a typical A4 B6 gearbox.
The six bolts in a circle around a slightly brighter part - that's the output flange that the driveshaft bolts to. There's another on the other side. The engine bolts to the front. If yours is 4wd, the back will be longer, with a transfer box for the drive to the rear.0 -

Sorry, no its the 3.0 v6 petrol model. so no DPF...
Reason I'm wondering is theres a really low/deep groan at times when steering at low speed, I assumed its the power steering pump but a respected Audi forum suggested possibly needing a gearbox oil change too, my cars done 120k approx and to my knowledge, its never been changed (I'm working on process of elimination, and cheapest/easiest to do first - hence the gearbox oil route)0 -

If it's steering-related, I can't see how it'd be gearbox. Can you feel anything through the steering?0 -

sorry forgot to say, mine is the FWD/2wd version0 -
<phew>
You have checked the power steering fluid level, right? Sounds like classic low-level, causing cavitation in the pump and foaming.

Yeah checked the PS level, it was low so topped it up about 2 months ago, and been fine ever since.
Cant feel anything through the steering, only hear this low level drone (sounds like Chewbacka the wookie moaning) at times0
