Someone else taking car for MOT
Asking on behalf of someone - I don't drive and know zilch really about any driving related things. If someone is unable to drive their car for its MOT test (health reasons), would it be possible to arrange for someone from the MOT centre to pick up the car and and deliver it back (if all fine)?

White Square Boxes above traffic light
I have just seen on the A1108 Earlham Road, Norwich at the five way roundabout two white Square Boxes above pedestrian traffic lights each facing in line with the traffic. I have never seen these before and wonder if anyone knew what the are? I suspect they are for the emergency services to change the lights but I am not…

Why is guarantee ridiculously short when buying a user car from a trade seller in the UK?
In France you get 3 months guarantee anywhere and it's easy to negotiate 6 months. In Birmingham I see 1 month included in the price everywhere. One month. What the hell? Why not one day? And for 3 months which is still short IMO you have to pay like £200 extra. Again what the hell. End of venting, thanks.

All season tyre availability
I'm considering all season tyres for my Fiesta in case we have a repeat of last winter's conditions. When I lived in Scotland I switched from summer to winter tyres, but in Birmingham it seems like overkill to go for two sets of tyres (and space is a bit more of an issue here). The problem I'm having is finding suitable…

Enterprise city car club
Hi, has anyone had any experience of these schemes, good or bad? Having to give up our 18 year old car so looking at this as an alternative as we probably only really need a car four times a year or so. Thanks.

Denied Tax?!
So I have recently purchased a car but stupidly lost the new owners slip (still awaiting the V5) so decided to fill in a form at the Post Office today to get Tax sorted. However when the cashier entered in the cars details it came up on his computer that he was unable to proceed and I had to call DVLA... it was too late to…

Trading in a car on PCP
Hello, so I bought a brand new Vauxhall corsa energy at the beginning of the year. I was wondering once I’ve had it a year and I’ve got my years no claim from the insurance I was wondering if it was possible to trade it in to say Audi or BMW for a bigger car. I know it’s brand new so I would loose a lot of money but just…

Speed cameras
We've been trying to get a speed camera (temporary) set up on our section of the A21. This has been refused on health and safety grounds. It seems, to me, very ironic that we can't have a speed camera on the road because its too dangerous, presumably due to speeders.:rotfl:

Anschler (ECP) shock absorbers
Hey, I did my first strut replacement job, it really fixed up a lot of issues with ride quality on my really old 2002 golf. I was wondering what the reliability of these shocks are given that they're the cheapest stuff ECP sell. They are their own brand and I haven't found many reviews for them online. I chose them over…

Car Insurance - Additional Compensation
Unfortunately my car was hit by another car whilst it was parked outside. The Third-Party has admitted full fault. The insurance company is trying to negotiate a pay off, as i understand you can negotiate this by providing similar spec car being sold by dealerships. However i spent quite fair bit on MOT, Suspension,…

What is the best kind of place to sell a broken car for parts? (meaning where I'll get the most mone
I'm offered £100 for part exchange by trade sellers I'm pretty sure the total sum of its parts is way higher than that so there must be a better option.

Not speeding but camera flashed me once
So I was driving down the A3 (Roehampton area) last night. Speed limit 40mph. I drive down this stretch of road daily. I slowed down as I approached the speed camera. My speedometer read 38 as I went through the camera (so I was probably only actually going 36). Despite this I was flashed by the camera. There was only one…

PCN appeal won - can I now fine the council
Years ago I won an PCN appeal at ombudsman stage and made a claim for council to pay ME money as they acted badly. There was certain wording for their behaviour that allowed me to do this. I now am in the same boat - won another appeal at ombudsman stage and don't feel the council should have allowed it to have got that…

Dodgy dealer & bank Chargeback
I'm pretty desperate for some advice. Long and short, I bought a Citreon Grand Picasso in June - it had some smoke, dealer assured me it was a or a seal pipe needed replacing. Turns out the turbo is dying. My mechanic told me to return it as the gearbox was also going to need replacing and the handbrake was faulty. Like an…

slight clutch sticking on Octavia
The clutch very occasionally sticks a bit on my 2013 Skoda Octavia. Doesn’t affect driving just feels a bit odd sometimes. Is this something that should be looked at immediately or should I just mention it at the next service? I'm guessing the former, but is a dealer going to charge me a fortune even to look at it?

Sold My Motorbike Privately & Buyer Wants Full Refund
Hi I’ve recently sold my motorbike privately last weekend. The buyer has tried to contact me to inform me he wants a full refund on the motorbike as he is deeming it as unroadworthy. The advert I feel was advertised correctly stating it is in ‘good road conditions’ ‘low mileage(under 1000)’ ‘one previous owner’. The buyer…

What is your most memorable experience in a car?
I would say of the top of my head driving back from a football match in thick fog and couldn't seen anything , made it through though.
