Someone else taking car for MOT

Asking on behalf of someone - I don't drive and know zilch really about any driving related things. If someone is unable to drive their car for its MOT test (health reasons), would it be possible to arrange for someone from the MOT centre to pick up the car and and deliver it back (if all fine)?

The garage/MoT testing do not care how the vehicle gets there. They are simply interested in it arriving .... if they provide this service, then you can use it; most/many do not as it requires two people to leave the building.

I've done this when for my father-in-law when he was ill. It was free too, I don't suppose they're all like that! You just have to find one that offers this service.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.
  • I do it very year for my old banger.

Garage sends a bloke round in a car (driven by another bloke). Picks up my car. Does service and MoT.. Delivers car back and is picked up by another bloke.

Another one here who has the car picked up by the garage.
In the old days, I used to leave my car at the village garage, and bung the car key through the letter box.
So there was nobody with it when it got it's MOT.

Most bigger garages will be able to collect the car, test and return it. The small places may not have the staff and won't want to close the shop twice.
Or anyone else can be insured on it to take it in; the garage doesn't care how it gets to their car park.
