Cancelling car warranty - MOT and Service contract
I will appreciate if someone can give me some advice on this matter as it would really save me a lot of money. Last year I bought a car and decided to take a 2 year warranty, which includes Service and MOT as well. I, then realized that I should have not done so. It's been almost a year and I haven't used the warranty but I…

Selling my car
I have taken my car to a small 2nd hand car dealer whom I have known for many years and has bought a number of cars from me and my business. He had agreed a price for my car but when I returned with the paperwork one of his employees tried to reduce the offer. Does the original offer has any standing or form any sort of…

Mechanical advice - car service
Just looking for some opinions on brakes... I have an advisory to get the brake pads on my car done as they're worn. If replacing the brake pads, is it also advisable to get the discs done at the same time? I've heard it is, but I'm not sure. If I just get the pads done, but then the discs need doing next year am I better…

How to run GPS in car concurrently with CD player
I have a Garmin GPS but unfortunately have lost the user guide. I want to be able to play CDs at the same time as running the GPS but at present the sound from one cancels out the other. Both appear to be using my car stereo output. What is the solution? Do I just mute the sound on the GPS and if so which is the command to…

Car using twice as much petrol after MOT
Hi, some advice would be gratefully accepted. My little 1.3 Fiesta usually gets through about £12.50 a week in fuel. However, since I got it back from MOT (passed but with 5 advisories) last weekend, the fuel consumption has skyrocketed. It's just used £22.50 in 5 days, with usual mileage! _pale_ Is there a way the garage…

M25 smart cameras working?
Was on the M25 going anticlockwise from around J16 to J10 at the weekend. From what I've always read the speed cameras linked to the variable speed limits etc aren't operational on this stretch. Initially due to a legal issue and subsequently some operational one I do this route fairly often and never seen them flash but…

I have installed a cheap dash cam (£27). It's recorded (in surprisingly good definition) drivers on phones , undertaking and cars going through red lights. I have been deleting these files from my PC but wondered if I should be sending them to the Police. Would you grass on these offenders ?

A gap in car tax.
I bought my car 3 months ago, I went through the website and taxed the car online - keep in mind the DVLA website was still very buggy at this point, but it clearly never went through. Now though, after a quick search into when my MOT is due I see that the car's tax status is "not taxed", a quick look through my credit…

Noise from rear tyre - I think
It's kind of like a whirring/vibrating noise. Most noticeable from 30mph and upwards. Had the tyre repaired a few months ago due to a screw, but this noise has only appeared over the last couple of weeks. Inflated them yesterday and it was down to about 27PSI as apposed to all the others which were about 30-32. I've had a…

PCP Mileage
Hey all, I've read numerous posts about PCP etc, and I feel a little bit confused. First of all, I intend to trade the car in after 2 years and do another PCP, which may change the response I get. Basically the dealer put me down for 6k mileage a year, I do about 7k tops so could (if needed) be a bit more clever and get it…

The numbers game..
I remember years ago a BMW 520i badge meant it had a 2.0 engine. A 528i had a 2.8 engine. Similarly a Merc C220 had a 2.2 engine and a C250 had a 2.5 engine. Why is then that a BMW 123d doesnt have a 2.3d engine and a Merc C250 is actually a 1.8...? Could do on.. A new 528i has a 3.0. A 325d has a 3.0...
