Just looking for some opinions on brakes...
I have an advisory to get the brake pads on my car done as they're worn.
If replacing the brake pads, is it also advisable to get the discs done at the same time? I've heard it is, but I'm not sure.
If I just get the pads done, but then the discs need doing next year am I better to just get them both done now or is getting them done separately not a complication, or an extra cost?

Pads usually wear down faster than discs so it's normal to replace the pads on a car now and then without having to replace the discs.
When you do eventually have to change the brake discs though you always fit new pads. All your base are belong to us.0 -
It is not necessary to swap the disks at the same time as the pads but if the disks need replacing soon then you may save a little in labour charges by getting them done at the same time.
As you didn't get an advisory for the disks as well you might be able to get away with just the pads.
If in doubt, ask your local friendly mechanic for a 2nd opinion re the state of the disks.0 -

With the lack of asbestos in pads now you often find that discs wear an awful lot faster than they did previously.
To be honest if you buy from EuroCarParts the cost of discs is not huge.
If you are going to sell soon then pads only.
If you are looking at keeping it another year or so then do discs and pads.0 -
On most of the car's i've had by the time the second set of pads are worn down it's close to time to replace the disc. All your base are belong to us.0
