Who supplies our fuel?
Does anyone know who supplies our various fuel stations? Where does it come from and what is added to each different suppliers fuel? I presumed it all came from the nearest distribution points or from the nearest refineries? "EDIT" I didn't exactly put my question down as good as I could have ;) So here goes. Pretty sure…

To Lease or not to Lease?
My wife and I were wondering if it is cheaper to lease a car than part exchanging for a newer model over a long term. Any thoughts gratefully received!

Transferring number plates
OK, I'm confused and trying to talk to DVLA has got me more confused because they don't do talking, they do recorded messages repeating what I have already read on the advice notes. I'm sure that this is a simple problem that I am overthinking! I want to transfer a number plate between two cars we own. Both cars have…

Failed hazard perception
Hello, I've failed my driving theory test again (both times failed the hazard perception). Last time in 2 clips I got 0 points (one of them was the double hazard so lost 15 points) as the computer stated I clicked in an unacceptable manner. I'm really worried I'll fail again. I clicked a few times as I thought clicking…

Reclaiming Policy Excess / Non Fault
Is there a way to reclaim the policy excess even though it wasn't the drivers fault? Today a pedestrian stepped off the curb and my partner couldn't avoid the collision. The incident is recorded on CCTV. Police & Medical crews involved. Car is now at the garage awaiting repair but we will be billed for £350 for excess

Mis-sold Car Insurance - What Should I do?
Hi, I am a student who has been driving for over a year now. My car insurance came up for renewal in November and my current insurer had offered me a really good quote to keep my policy with them. They weren't the cheapest, however they had offered me "driving other cars as standard" in my quote, in writing, so I took them…

Wheel arches deflating tyes
There was a thread on this sometime ago but a search has failed to find so apologies for repeating the question. One of the tyres on my 17 year old Toyota Avensis keeps losing pressure although several garages have been unable to find a puncture. One of them suggested that it might be some corrosion or other damage in the…

Best Company For Scrapping Car
I have been given the task by the missus of scrapping her P reg Fiesta as it is not economically viable to keep on the road. It has been a good runner and passed its last MOT but has lately developed clutch issues. I was initially thinking of sticking it on Ebay as spares/repairs having sold cars on there before. The…

Motorway Services PCN
I have one of these from ParkingEye, £100 for a vehicle parked in motorway services. The previous advise I had about these kinds of fines (a couple of yrs ago) was to ignore the letters as they were un-enforceable, which I did and they gave up in the end. Is this still the case? Cheers.

Car suggestions for First Time driver
Hi Folks, So my OH is currently in the process of taking lessons and I want to get her a cheap car that she can use to both learn in and drive afterwards. It is going to be a surprise, however I have a MAX budget of about £500. Car MUST be diesel as she will be using it for work and will have a 90 mile commute everyday, as…

Good Reliable Used Manual Diesel Car
Hi, I am looking to buy a used MANUAL diesel car ASAP with good fuel economy and low emissions preferably. Mainly town driven with occasional motorway, about 15-20K miles per annum. I've been badly stung in the past by DMFs (Dual Mass Flywheel), so need to find a car without DMF and DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter). I used…

Car finance troubles - bank haven't paid garage now garage is threatening me
Hi, I'm currently having big problems with my car finance and would like someone to explain the legalities of this. I financed a car on Saturday, with my dad as a guarantor (I'm only 19), they asked us to bring proof of id in, which we did and had photocopied and signed off by a member of staff, and everything was good and…

Tyre Repair Gunk
I don't have a spare wheel in my car, just the repair kit with the gunk and compressor, which is ok, I don't mind, it's very quick and easy, and in some circumstances easier than changing a wheel on the roadside. I had a flat a few weeks ago, but they wouldn't repair it because I'd used the gunk so I had to buy a new tyre.…
