Speeding Fine NIP

Hi all, I have just received a notice of intended prosecution (NIP), for apparently doing 37 in a 30 zone. The problem is:
a) my name is spelt incorrectly
b) it was sent to the wrong address 75 instead of 81
c) it is for a registration plate I've never owned, or drove for that matter
d) i received the letter over the 14 day period (23days)
To make it clear I did not commit this offence.
I intend contacting the Central Processing Unit tomorrow, until then I appreciate your thoughts!
Thanks.

If it's not you or your car just bin it. Eventually they will realise they made a mistake.0

It's strange the OP noticed all the errors, yet couldn't notice a big yellow gatso or such like as they ignored the preffered speed limit?0

If there is a s.172 requirement as part of the paperwork, don't ignore that. It is a different matter to the NIP and should not be ignored.0

If you have never owned or driven the vehicle as you state, simply complete the NIP (which you are required to do by law anyway if S172 is being applied) stating that you have never owned or driven the vehicle and send it back.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it0 -

You included 4 errors in your oringal post here they are again

Either you were in a motorised vehicle travelling along the said road at the time or you were not, notice no one has harboured on about the 23% above the suggested limit and what if a child ran out blady blah, it doesn't matter how long you've been driving , of course it's irritating if you get caught, I'm not sure why you think you are exempt from the law where as others are not?0 -
Forgive me, but I suspect a little bit of clarity might help... Was it really you driving and this is just a question of minor details, or is this genuinely absolutely nothing to do with you?
If we're talking details, and it was you driving a vehicle registered to somebody else, then when the NIP went to the registered keeper - who's then named you - that explains both the delay and the likelihood of a minor manual error in the name and address (it's clearly still reached you). Equally, it could well be a minor manual typo in the registration. These things are processed by human beings.
The NIP is merely asking you to confirm that it was you driving.
If it's genuinely nothing to do with you, then just send it back saying "Nope, not me". It'll go back to the registered keeper or whoever's named you. If somebody's registered a vehicle spuriously to a name like yours at an address like yours, then you'll want to get on to DVLA, too.
It only has to be POSTED to the registered keeper within 14 days. They do not tend to get that wrong.0 -

Why would you assume it's yours if it doesn't have your name, address or vehicle registration on it?!0

In his opening post he ends with " I appreciate your thoughts" but then leads on to snap at those that question anything about the incident and letter.0
