Best Company For Scrapping Car

I have been given the task by the missus of scrapping her P reg Fiesta as it is not economically viable to keep on the road. It has been a good runner and passed its last MOT but has lately developed clutch issues.
I was initially thinking of sticking it on Ebay as spares/repairs having sold cars on there before. The drawback here is that it is time consuming and I am aware there are idiots/time wasters on there who want something for nothing.
So it looks like the best option is to scrap it. I am aware of companies on the net that come and collect your car and pay you the scrap value.
My question is does anybody here have experience of using these companies and which one offers the best prices. Do they give you the cash in hand when they collect the cars?

If it runs, phone your local scrap yard and drive it down to them. You'll get much more that way than if someone collects it from you.0

I had a 5 series BMW auto with nearly 200K on the clock. Gearbox was going to cost more than the car was worth to repair. I googled "BMW scrap" and found a number of firms. The first offered £800, the next when told that offered £1000, and the next when told that offered £1200 which I accepted. They drove 150 miles to collect the car on a truck and paid with cash before I released the vehicle.
I suppose I was lucky in that it was top spec, and had immediately saleable bits like the steering wheel, alloy wheels, sports skirts etc.
Not sure about desirability of bits off P reg Fiesta, but just ring round locally and play them off one against the other. Make sure you get paid in cash before handing over the keys, V5 etc, and get a receipt.0 -
£100 min for scrap cars these days so the one on the radio says.
A big recycler in the bucks area does everything not just cars.
There will be a propper recycling place somewhere not too far that will do it properly.0
