Travelcard question (London)
Hello, I am moving to Potters Bar, which unhelpfully is just outside of the London fare zones. I have to travel through all zones to get to work, so I'm looking at £67pw which I have to say is ridiculous seeing as I can travel by bus to Cockfosters (zone 5) in 15 mins. What I'm asking really is whether I can purchase a…

Car Repair Costs
Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but is anyone concerned about the ever increasing tendency by car manufacturers to incorporate components into cars which can only be diagnosed and repaired by their own dealers? My neighbour's Fiat Punto had a power steering warning light start to come on intermittantly. Our local…

What is a revoked driving licence?
I have a friend (40) who apparently had her licence revoked over 10 years ago. She was caught badly parked and has also been charged with no insurance (I assume because she doesn't have a licence) she has insurance. I would assume she passed her test before 1 June 1997 when The Road Traffic (New Drivers) Act 1995 came into…

I want to use public transport, but it's so expensive!
I just started a new job in Bristol, right near to the bus station. I live about 9 miles away from town and figured that getting the bus could make sense! However, a monthly pass is a staggering £84 a month! Driving in for 4.33 weeks, is 389.7 miles. At 139.9 a litre and 40 mpg that's only £61.43. We are told how we are…

If an auto license holder wants to drive a manual car, can they only do so in the company of someone who has a full manual license and do they have to stick "L" plates on the car ? I know they eventually have to take a test in a manual vehicle but what is the process in the meanwhile ?

New vehicle delivery charges
On a small combi van I am looking at £580 plus VAT for delivery to the dealer and number plates. Given I suspect number plates cost £20 or so, around £560 plus VAT or a total of £672 or thereabouts seems way OTT for sticking it on a transporter and sending it to the dealer. Anyone got experience of swerving this rip off or…
