I have seen a 2001 Y reg VW Passat sport tdi 130bhp it has very rare extras of tiptronic gearbox, solar sunroof and fog lights, plus 6 CD autochanger.
It has MOT till end of year and has 130k mileage -the engine is spot on and car drives well.Interior is solid and there are no rips , tears or saggyness
However it needs 1 alloy wheel, road tax at £270 for year, heaters need sorting out, very minor dent on rear quarter panel, , 1 rear light lens(although the broken one can be patched up with film). Also scratches on boot , bonnet need polishing out (they are not deep)
Luckily , a mechanic pal of mine knows these cars well and can sort these out at even less than mates rates and says the heater fix does not require dashboard removal
So what is this car worth , what would you pay?

Not as rare as a CD auto-changer, must have been a fancy car in its day ;)

To be fair a car from 2001 is 11/12 years old now and not worth much at all, I would guess its worth a few hundred.

suggests a bit more than a few hundred:D

I drove a 130bhp when new and it goes like stink easily outpaced the equivalent A4:beer:

I’ve had the 130 outrun mine (S-Max), which has 200hp

I’d personally give between £2k to £2.5k for it, if I was looking (knowing the engines and how good they are, compared to similar models).

My ’94’ Scorpio Cossie and ’95’ Mondeo 2.5 Ghia X both had the CD Autochanger, although they were both posh cars in their day!

At least 2004/2005 for that money.

Fog lights AND a Cd player..?!

You'll be telling us it has 4 tyres and electric lights next...

CD changer was standard on the Sports anyway lol.

Anyway, the solar sunroof is a rare option, but its a solid panel so you cant see out of it.

What the heater problem? As there are loads of faults with them things.

Having had a "53" plate version of this car i can confirm the CD autochanger and front fogs were standard kit on the car.

I suppose in 2001 it might not have been but as far as i remember the major change on the 2003 models was they got chrome edging instead of the solid black bits?

doubt it'd be worth 2 grand.

There were different levels of CD , and 6 autochanger was optional
Heater seems to work intermiitently afaik

Front fog lights were NOT standard on Sport at ANY time.
