Travelcard question (London)
Hello,
I am moving to Potters Bar, which unhelpfully is just outside of the London fare zones. I have to travel through all zones to get to work, so I'm looking at £67pw which I have to say is ridiculous seeing as I can travel by bus to Cockfosters (zone 5) in 15 mins. What I'm asking really is whether I can purchase a travelcard for 1-5 to cover Cockfosters (around £49pw) and take the bus (298) to and from Potters Bar with this travelcard? Is this all perfectly legal? Over a month, this would save over £70. Thanks.

There is no concept of zones for buses.
Taken to it's extreme, you could get a zone 1-2 travelcard and get buses from Potters Bar to zone 2 at no extra cost... other than time.
Edited to add:
This webpage might give you some other ideas.
It appears to be slightly out of date, so check the fares before making decisions.0
