It wants to find the most expensive ticket per mile in the UK - the reason "It came about after the News Ed was charged a staggering £106 quid to go from Reading to Basingstoke, which is about 30 miles – and in…

Claiming back for late trains
Hello, My train from Godalming to London Waterloo left on time, but was over an hour late this morning after an 'attempted suicide' at Waterloo. While I appreciate that this was not the fault of SW Trains in any way whatsoever, the train guard did make an announcement stating that as the train was over an hour late,…

Train fine issued despite valid ticket
Hi all, Just wondered if you thought there's any room for appeal in this. I added funds to my Oyster card specifically for this journey (Wimbledon to Tooting - just two stops!), and touched the card against the reader on the platform so it beeped. It was then checked on the train, and for some reason that beep hadn't…

Witnessed a bump
Four or five times in the last couple of months (no idea why, never happened before then!) I've seen minor prangs between cars while out and about. Today, for example, I saw someone get rear-ended on a roundabout. Having had problems in the past with the other party lying in insurance claims, I often feel I should act as…
