DVLA Groundhog Day
The DVLA clamped my car on Tuesday for not having a current tax disk- £80.00 to get the yellow slug removed and £120 surety - refundable if a valid tax disk is shown at their car pound.- annoying but fair enough . I forgot but so did they to send a reminder (apparently no defence) BUT I then got another fine for the back…

Claim from council for wheel damage
I was driving home from work the other night and heard a loud bang from the back of my car. I eventually found a 6 inch iron bolt had punctured by tyre and smashed a hole through my wheel. Can I claim from the council for this damage? It's not the kind of thing you expect to find along a main road and was lucky I had not…

Clutch replacement
I am pretty certain that, after 11 years, nearly 97000 miles and and a year of stop/go driving around the A4174 Bristol Ring Road, the clutch in my faithful and much-loved Mk.2 Mondeo is slipping. For a while now, the "old girl" just hasn't felt right. Every so often, usually when the engine is pulling, the revs will shoot…

Car A Previous Write Off
Hello fellow moneysavers. I've just found out my car was a previous write off so you can guess how happy I am! I've also been told that although the repair work was safe, it wasnt a good job. I bought the car privately just under 2 years ago. I specifically asked the seller if it had been involved in an accident and was…

I'm going from London to Oxford tomorrow and was wondering whether buying a London to Oxford travelcard would be valid, since my outward journey will be from London to Oxford, and not the other way around. Charged Wrong Price For Petrol!!
I have just put some Petrol in my car at my local supermarket petrol station. As you get points per litre (not £s) i put 10 litres in @ 106.9/litre. This should come to £10.69, but the pump said £10.70!! I pointed this out to the pump attendant who was taken aback by this & said he hadn't realised this as he never took…
