They have said that they will contact the finance company…

Petrol in a diesel car!
I can't believe I did this! I was running on empty and went into a different petrol station to fill up. Noticed prices were higher than my local garage so only put £20 in. I then drove 500 yards to the shops and went in shopping. When I came out my car wasn't keen to start. Checked my fuel reciept and saw I'd put…

Fuel economy on Renault Scenic 1.6RXE automatic (2001) - info required please!
Hi fellow Moneysavers, I've been reading with interest the tips posted here about about better/safer driving, & whilst I've been following these for the past 6 months or so, I'm still finding that fuel economy is still around the 34 mpg-mark (according to my dashboard display). My outgoing journey is around 17 miles in the…

Air conditioning
I know that you're supposed to run the A/C regularly even in the winter to stop the seals drying up, but does anyone know if it's OK to run the A/C with the heater on as well?

OAP bus passes
My parents are in their 80s and both need to take regular trips to the hospital. Unfortunately their hospital is in a different borough to where they live, which means that their local bus passes don't cover their journeys - hence they have to pay full fare on the buses. This situation seems pretty ludicrous and unfair -…

VAT on Fuel Tax question
I think there must be something unethical with the price of fuel. Let me explain. Much of the price of fuel is actually tax. For about every £10 we put in our tank I think about £9 is tax. On top of this we are paying 17.5% VAT. Theoretically, for every £10 of fuel I'm sure we should only pay 17.5p, i.e. the VAT on the…

I know the company I work for will pay 25 pence a mile towards your petrol, and…
