working as a carer.Transport options

Options
Hi,

I just started work again as a carer. I haven't drove for about five years. Obviously a car would be the best option, as I visit some service users upto 4 times a day, starting as early as seven am up till eleven pm, depending on the shift. I know the company I work for will pay 25 pence a mile towards your petrol, and I'v been told they pay the apr if you need finance to buy a vehicle. I'd like to know if any carers know of other things you can claim for eg tax disc or repairs, as I'm not sure I can afford to run one. I'll be working to run a car I don't really want. I'm £47.34 better off a week working, pending on the car situation.
