Station taxis: Don't use the rank, keep your money in the bank
What's it about? If you've ever arrived at a train station you're not familiar with, tired and perhaps late at night, it's likely you've hopped into a cab on the rank outside just for ease. But you pay for the privilege, possibly double the cost of a standard dial-up taxi. Yet there's a little-known service you can use in…

Mondeo door rust
If you own a Ford Mondeo built between 2001 and 2004, check the bottom of the doors for rust. I've just had four new doors fitted under Ford's corrosion warranty. Cars of this era did not have the seam sealant correctly applied and so the seams rust. As it's at the bottom of the doors it is not immediately obvious. You…

Young Persons Railcard
hi, something I only realised recently (after having a YPR for 6yrs) you can get a reduced price off-peak travelcard. Take your card to any London Underground ticket office after 09:30am or any time at the weekend and you can get a zones 1-6 card for approx £4.80 instead of £6.30, this means you can then use this to travel…

I currently drive a Kia Picanto manual which suits my needs but have not heard good reports of the automatic. I am considering a Nissan Micra or a Daewoo. If any one has…

Servicing an Audi A3
Hi, Once the debts are clear and in the next year i plan to sell my very nice VW Golf TDI and purchase a newer Audi A3 TDI 2000+ model, since my shares are due to mature and are going strong. However a few people have told me that the servicing on these is fairly astronomical when compared to a VW as you have to buy…

I think it was 6pm before the day of…

Buying a Caravan - Sad but True
Hiya guys OH has been told that from January his contract will move up to Gloucester. So, in good old money saving tradition, we have decided that it would be cheaper to buy a second hand caravan and find a site for him to park it, rather than paying out for digs or a b&b. Also, I figured that we could use it on…
