Mortgage qualification prior to making an offer
I know this question has been asked before but not sure if Covid may have changed things recently. My wife and I are looking to move home. Due to previous bad credit we used a mortgage advisor who has secured us a decision in principle with Kensington. We have a buyer on our house and are just waiting to find a…

Newcastle Building Society Bad credit
Hi I've been spending the past few weeks scrawling these forums looking for someone who had circumstances similar to ours that have gone with Newcastle Building Society but have had no luck. Can't seem to find any experiences on Newcastle Building Society mortgages at all! So me and my partner are first time buyers and…

Minimum Mortgage amounts
Originally posted this on Mortgage Free Wanabee forum but no ones answered. Hoping for some advice from here. I expect at the end of January to have enough money in various savings and car value to leave around 7k left on my mortgage (if all savings used to pay this off). The exact amount owing at the moment is about 99k,…

I have a default registered against me for a credit card I had with RBS back in October 2017. The amount was £1700 and I went in to a payment plan and the balance has been settled since May 2020. Getting Two Mortgage Offers
Hi all We have a mortgage offer from Barclay's that expires before our expected completion date. Apparently as our new completion date approaches, I can apply to Barclays for an extension. This can only be done within 30 days of the expiry however. An alternative approach would be to apply for a second mortgage with a…

AIB Mortgages
Why is AIB even listed in the table of offers. It is impossible to get through to them - phones have recorded messages telling you to call other numbers, those numbers go to voicemail, and messages and emails are not answered. Such a frustrating waste of time which I could do without when moving house :-(

We are building a two storey side and rear extension on our house. We have already put plenty of our own savings into it and have the shell built with all windows, doors, roof, guttering and facia done. Re-located, now want to buy first home
We recently moved back to Northern Ireland from England, aiming to buy our first house ASAP. I have just started a new job, at an increased salary than before, but my Fiancé, a Nursery/Primary Teacher, has had to leave her permanent job for the move. We have a deposit saved of around £30,000 and will want to buy a home in…

taking partner of joint mortgage
Hi , currently going through a separation and looking at the best way to take over the mortgage. I had a house previous so the money in the house is mine but it is in a joint mortgage. I rang my mortgage provider and to take my ex partner off I would have to reapply and meet the eligibility. They could only lend me £150k…

Mortgage gone back to pre-offer?
Hi, we are due to complete on Friday and today I spoke with Halifax about payment dates who then told me my offer (6th November 2020) has gone back to pre-offer!!! After much passing around from one team to the next I was eventually told that it is a glitch on the system which ‘kicks the offer off’ and it will be back on…

Capitalising mortgage overpayment
Hi there.. I am overpaying my mortgage by £200 each month and at the end of the fixed term there is some overpayment amount saved. What have I done on previous product transfers is I have asked my lender to capitalise my overpayment - so it is taken off completely. There is no specific reason for it - I just like the idea…

Approved mortgage address/freehold error fix
Hello! We have been approved for a mortgage by HSBC and our solicitor has noted two mistakes on our application. The wrong county was used on our new address, and the application also states that the home is freehold, when it is actually leasehold (very common in NI). Our solicitor faxed a document to request an amendment…
