newlywed to a debt disaster area. Help please!
Heloo! I got married last month and having finally changed my name I have put all of our wedding cheques made out to my husband and me into my account yesterday only to come downstairs (with a massive hangover) to find a letter from my bank saying that after credit checks on him we can't have a joint account. People keep…

Bit annoyed with my dad
We visit my dad every Sunday, the only time he ever comes to our house is xmas day for his dinner. He stays in the other side of the city so it's an 18 mile round trip each weekend for us but we always go as he can be quite moody and will go in a huff if we don't visit. Last weekend we got a new puppy so we asked him if he…

Confused by teenage sons fibs...
Needed to get a mobile no. from my sons phone on Tuesday. Wasn't particularly snooping, he's a good lad and doesn't give me any major concerns, apart from telling the odd fib. Which is where the problem lies..The inbox on his phone comes up when you switch it on, and displays the first line of the text. The last one was…

Do I need permission
I'm thinking of taking my kids on holiday sometime this year, do I need my ex to agree, or can I just tell her I'm taking them on holiday? Is there any legal implications if I take them without asking. Obviously I'd let her know, but if she disagrees would I be liable to get arrested for kidnapping my own kids or something?

One of those days!
Just having one of those days....well every day feels like that lately. Feeling really down and wondering when things will get any easier.

Life used to be much simpler when
there wasn't so much choice - and I didn't bother about money saving. At the mo I'm investigating energy suppliers and best deals cos mine is due to end, now apparently we're over our broadband download limit and TalkTalk want to charge more (so another trawl for better deals). And... I could get a better rate for my ISAs,…

Please help me to trace a lost relative!
I am still in shock so please bear with me.... Out of the blue on Wednesday 9th September 2009, my Mum told me that I have a half-sister as she had a child when she was 18 years old. The child was given up for adoption when the child was 6 weeks old. My Mum was forced to give up the child because she was not married…

problems over will
My wifes Father died at the begining of July 2009, and we are having trouble with his second wife, and hope someone may be able to help with some info as to what to do. The wife has said that she does not want anything to do with her husbands side of the family ( which we can except as she is not a nice person anyway). The…

Handing over our French house to our children
We are considering 'donating' our French property to our children, as we can do under French law, as this will then remove it from our estate. We want their future children to be able to enjoy it as much as they have in the past 30 years and they want this too. They are both happily married but our one concern is that if…

Break up....working it out...
Hello, Not normally a poster on this board but someone suggested I pop over here for some support. I hope you don't mind? To cut a long story short, OH landed a bombshell on me that he wasn't happy in our relationship, time and space etc and decided it was best he moves back to his parents house. This was just over 4 weeks…

My old posters (who was on your Bedroom wall)
My partner & I are getting engaged and obviously want some cash for an engagement ring. I suggested a declutter and perhaps do a boot sale. Not looking for anything too flash (trying to be MSE) just something symbolic & simple. Anyway, partner has agreed it's a good idea. So went rakeing in the loft and OH finds the shoe…

How to deal with ex
Hi all I have two DDs with my ex and had an amicable relationship generally. He has them every other weekend but rarely anything inbetween - although he takes an interest in what's happening with them, he's only actually involved if it falls on a weekend he has them. He has previously said when I asked if he could keep the…

why do you stay?/ would you stay?
I've noticed over the last few weeks there have been a lot of post about partner's cheating. My own personal opinion on cheating is a) I wouldn't do and b) if my partner cheated once, i would leave without a fight or an explanation. I think it is the ultimate betrayal and any trust, respect and love would go. I saw my own…

Query re willwriters
Morning, Not really sure where to post this question as it's not specifically about money saving but thought I'd ask anyway. A relative passed away a couple of years ago and a new will came to light which had been executed a very short time before her death in hospital. The individual who organised the new will (and…
