How can I calculate...?
Hi all, I am looking to pay off a loan 5 years early, in January 2013. I was just wondering what the formula is for calculating the amount payable at that date? Sorry if I'm being a bit thick, I've tried it 3 ways and come up with different answers each time. Thanks!

Said lender refused loan, meanwhile my details were sent to 13 other brokers claiming £3.25 - £69.99 for organising this non existent loan. the total requests for fees came to £772.54 for a £500 loan request. result my bank account is frozen, i have no…

Car loan (or not to loan) options
I have three cars and one loan with Nat west for £5000 since Jan this year. Two of my cars are classics, one classic 1960's Daimler worth £8000-9000 and a 1978 MGB worth about £800 in its current stae (on road with MOT till October and a little tatty but nothing major that I know of lying beneath) My other car is a modern…

Ernest Jones Credit Agreement
I took out a credit agreement to pay for wedding ring last August through Ernest Jones, which I believe was done through Santander. Have moved house over the last 6 months and managed to lose all the documentation that I had. The money was coming off my credit card every month, nicely until I had my credit card stolen…

Car Finance Acceptance
I went to a 'Car Supermarket' today and saw a car that I plan on buying (or similar spec @ similar price). I spoke with the sales rep about the finance on offer and he seemed very confident that I'd be accepted despite asking very few questions. I'm not too sure so I wanted to get some opinions before putting a search…

New car finance
I wonder if anyone can help me. I really need to buy a car for my job and would like to finally get a really nice one - what are the chances of being accepted for finance for a car costing greater than 50% of my salary (I have seen this noted as a 'limit' in other posts)? Surely everyone driving round in fancy cars doesn't…

Need a Loan for a Car
I see many threads on here along those lines. People seem desperate to get into debt by spending thousands on something that will depreciate faster than they can pay off the interest. You do NOT need to spend thousands on a car. You may WANT to (for reasons based on something other than MoneySaving) but you don't NEED to.…

Chances of acceptance for finance?
Hi everyone, hope you're enjoying your weekend. I'm going to keep this short and sweet. I want a new car. I am 22 years old and live in a flat but do not pay rent or bills (it's above my Father's pub). I'm still registered to my parent's address and on the electoral roll there. I earn £20,000 per annum basic plus…

Student loan is trechearous
Hello, I made some calculations on student loans. And I was terrified what I have found. Lets say I embark on Biochemistry course which costs 9k/ year. During three-year course, I will start to be growing my loan with 3 % + infliation stuff. I will get out of uni with 30k + debt. Lets say I will earn 30 k a year which is…

Credit Expert and address?
Hi there I have logged on to experian and got my credit report. I have a credit of 939 out of 1000. The only thing working against me was that I wasn't on the electoral role for my current address. This has stopped me getting the loan I need to pay for vet bills that have hit me pretty hard. I updated my address on…

Would I have defaulted
Hi I had a default registered on my credit report back in 2006 for £17,000. Not long after I had my PPI payments refunded to me which then made the debt just over £10,000 lots of other things to ask but is it not true to say that if the payments for the loan hadn't been so high due to the PPI payments, might I not have…

First time personal loan question...
Hi, I am contemplating taking out a personal loan to fund purchasing a used car for me to get to work. I have found many competitive deals, but I would just like some help in calculating the interest I would pay. As an example, if I took out a £7500 loan for 3 years, I would expect to pay 6% APR representative interest.…

Very catalogue question.
I hope this is the right place?! I am sure this is going to sound like a dumb blonde question....mostly cos I am one. After a stupid period in my youth and the ongoing "ex" that left me with debts thing, I think my credit suitability is finally improving. Anyways to the point in hand, I have recently applied for and been…
