Need a Loan for a Car
Options
I see many threads on here along those lines. People seem desperate to get into debt by spending thousands on something that will depreciate faster than they can pay off the interest.
You do NOT need to spend thousands on a car. You may WANT to (for reasons based on something other than MoneySaving) but you don't NEED to.
This week I bought a car. It has 29,000 miles on the clock and drives like new. Interior and exterior are in excellent condition with no rust or damage and there's a full service history and six months MOT. This particular model has finished as high as 3rd in the JD Power driver satisfaction survey making it one of the "best buys" at any price.
I didn't borrow thousands to buy it because I didn't need to. The car cost £550. If you're interested it's a 1999 Skoda Felicia but if that's not for you then there are other cars available on similar deals.
Anybody can do this. Top tip is to look for dealers offloading trade-ins on Ebay. Cars can be great but too old to go on the forecourt. And you still get full "buying from a dealer" protection.

Can I help?

What about the doctors, solicitors, pilots, etc are they allowed to get finance for a decent car or do they have to drive a £550 skoda felicia about.0

No, he means all these people with an inability to manage money and borrowing from Wonga don't need to borrow money for a car. If you are a doctor or someone earning sufficient amounts you can get whatever car you wish as you can afford the debt.0

They can do what they like, as can you. All I was saying is that nobody needs to get into debt over a car. I also have a Volvo C70 that I paid £15k for but I had the money - I would never have borrowed it.Can I help?0 -
