Hi All,
I have a very quick question, I won't go into details, but I need an answer to this 2 questions please.

Do you have to put a guarantor down when you apply for a wonga loan?
Do you have to put a guarantor down when you apply for a quid.co. loan?

Many Thanks

No guarantor for a wonga loan.

I take it you aren't talking about quidco loans?

We'll go into more detail when the good idea has gone horribly wrong
  • No guarantors are needed for them

    OP you have been warned.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

no no no, you have it wrong, it is not me that is taking out a loan, far from it, I would not touch them with a barge pole.
This is my stepson who does not live with us, so we have no control over him to a certain degree. He has taken out loans on both of these sites. He has no income whatsoever as his jsa was stopped. He will not be able to pay any of this back at all. Myself and his dad were worried that he had put us down as guarantors. Now you have all said 'no you don't have to put anyone down',, but i have just read his loan agreement and it says this
    " Loan Approval

If and when we provisionally approve your loan application, actual payment of the loan amount is subject to:

    i. us ensuring that the information you gave us was not inaccurate or deficient in any respect (if we discover that it was, then the Agreement will be void and where appropriate may be reported to credit reference and fraud agencies);

ii. us checking your credit reference and the information you provide to assess the affordability of the loan.

iii. acceptance by us of the person you have nominated to act as Surety and provide a Guarantee, where applicable,

Sooooo, we need to find out whose name he has given them don't we???

How can anyone put down someone as a guarantor without their permission. In any event the lender could not access your account unless you had given them your bank details.
If they cannot access your bank details then how can they use just a name as a guarantor. You don't just give someone's name as a guarantor, it takes a bit more than that I think.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
  • Correct - where a guarantor is required, then the company would need to contact the nominated guarantor to seek signed approval.

    You've nowt to worry about.

If someone's brain function has reached the state where they would agree to be a guarantor for a PDL, having them put down would be the humane thing to do.

Why are so many people completely ignorant and stupid when it comes to money these days.

When I was a yoot (25 year ago), myself and people of my age seemed 10 times more financially mature.

Sign of the "I want it and I want it now at any cost" times????
