wondering if anyone can shed some light on this.
My friend had a bank statement today
three payments have gone out of their account totaling 1k.
Now they have never and I repeat never lol
had a wonga loan and nothing of course if shown going into the account.
Their bank has agreed to pay the money back on Monday
subject to a fraud check
How can this happen??
Can Wonga trace the person who has had the money

Wonga know where it went but due to dpa, you will never know..
Frustrating but as long as you get back to normal then that will be the end it.0 -

The bank will now scour the bank account to see if there was ever a transaction involved Wonga. As long as there wasnt, as you say, then the money will be returned.
Wonga supposedly have a fraud detection system, but time and time again we find out they dont!Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0 -

As I understand it, when you apply for a loan from Wonga, you specify the bank account where you want them to send the money, and you give them a debit card number so that they can collect the repayment. It is apparently possible to give them a debit card number that is linked to an entirely different bank account. Such as one in somebody else's name.

The bank will return the money Monday.

Technically, your friend isn't the 'victim', so they have no say in the prosecution. That's down to Wonga, police, CPS.0 -
If either of you have ever made a payment to Wanka on behalf of a family member/friend, that could be why they have your details?0

No they havent, but think it may be someone they know who had seen the card,
thats why they wanted to know would Wonka tell them....0
