I've got a bog standard ISA but looking to change into the new First Time House Buyers ISA later this year. Will I be able to pay into the current ISA I have, stop when the First Time House Buyers ISA…

ISA advice
I've got £14k in a Halifax ISA paying 1.05%. I have just opened the Santander123 Current Account and I'm thinking of withdrawing the ISA and putting it all into Santander as the interest is better. However, I'm worried about what I'll do with any excess savings of 20k. As I'll fill my Santander account to its limit very…

Nationwide L&G Stocks and Shares ISA Letter
Hi, I recently got a letter from Nationwide saying they were doing a review into how they sold Legal and General Stocks and shares ISAs and whether the level of risk was made clear. I can't find the letter at the moment and when I rang Nationwide they didn't now anything about it. They suggested I contact my branch, but…

ISA Help
Hi I am new to ISA's. Having read Martin's guides, I have a few questions. My scenario is as follows: I opened an ISA on the 5th April for an amount of £15K with Virgin at a rate of 2.35% I think it was, for 5 years. I'm certain I won't need those funds before then. It my understanding I can now open another ISA with…

The amount of money an ISA can hold
Hi Everyone, I recently moved my 15k ISA to another provider. A couple days I deposited £250 to this account whereas I meant to put £240 (I read somewhere that the limit was £15,240 for this year). My understanding of ISA's are that you can save a certain amount where the interest is taxed, so for this year its £15,240. On…

old and new ISA
Quick query - I have an ISA from last year and wish to open another this year, purely so I can have two separate accounts (saving for two different purposes, so easier to track). Once I open the new ISA account, can I deposit into both the old and the new account upto the annual limit? Or am I somehow limited to only…

Should I open another ISA?
I've got two ISA's, one Post Office (£6k) i've just opened, and another old Tesco one, which I may look to transfer as I don't believe the rate is good (checking tonight). Either way, I can now of course open a new ISA this FY, although I am unlikely to save more than £6k this year. The question is whether I should add to…

Help to buy and old Cash ISAs
Hi, I am planning on getting a Help to Buy ISA (£3400 deposit for this tax year) and putting the rest of my allowance into a stocks and shares ISA (£11,840). Separately, I have money in old cash ISAs. They are on fixed rates and when these rates expire during this tax year, I will be keen to transfer these funds into a…

Continue existing Nationwide Instant ISA Saver 1.50%
I have an Instant ISA Saver from last year which is still displaying an interest rate of 1.5% (new issue is @ 1.25%). It has allowed me to deposit the new tax year's allowance after going through a "renew" option in Online Banking. I've also processed a transfer of a maturing Santander 2yr FR ISA, into this Instant ISA…

Help to Buy ISAs - First-time buyer and non-first time buyer
Currently, I live in a house where the mortgage is in my partner's name ONLY (it was his house first, then I moved in and I pay him "rent" towards it). If we moved and got a mortgage together, would I be eligible for the Help to Buy ISA scheme? According to this link:…

Clydesdale Bank - any good?
Hi all I'm thinking about transferring my cash ISA to Clydesdale's 40 day notice ISA. However, I've not heard of this bank before and was wondering if they are reputable, and if anyone here has any experience of them and their customer service etc. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Santander ISA oversubscribed
Ok so I just got in contact with Santander to open a 2 yr cash Isa paying 2%. I already have 2 maxed out 123 accounts with them and also the best part of 40K to transfer in from a maturing BM cash ISA later this month. So I'm thinking to myself I will open up this new ISA with 5K and once my maturing ISA is moved over I…

ISAs online or not
I've never transferred ISAs in or gone with an ISA provider other than my current bank so everything has always been straight forward. It's time for me to do something about it. It seems to me that having an ISA that isn't managed online is a lot of hassle. Is that the general consensus?

Transferring in ISAs
I've read the isa guide on MSE but just not sure yet. Can I transfer ISAs (one or multiple) into a new one (provided they allow it) without it affecting the maximum ISA allowance per year? Or does it count towards your new allowance (£15,400). And can I open the 'transfer in ISAs' with a different provider to the 'new…
