Nationwide Save To Buy ISA and savings account
If you hold both a "Save To Buy ISA" and a "Save To Buy savings account", is the £20,000 maximum limit shared over both accounts, or can you have £20,000 in each (so £40,000 total)? I had assumed they were separate, but now I'm not so sure.

Sorry if this is a silly question but here goes. I paid into an ISA last year and want to do so again this year, I will be staying with the same provider so my question is, Do I just keep paying into the old ISA account or do I have to open a new ISA account for this years money?

Charles Stanley Direct ISA
Hi I've just opened a Charles Stanley Direct ISA for my husband (I've already got an S&S ISA elsewhere that I pay into monthly) and I thought I could choose which fund I want the monthly payments to go into, however the account is open and it hasn't asked me this. Have I misunderstood how it works? I wanted to invest in…

ISA Confusion
Hi all, Last year I opened an ISA and managed to save around 12k. Now the new tax year has started, should I open a new ISA and start paying into that and leave the current 12k where it is? Also can I add to that 12k or will that count towards this years allowance? Thanks

consolidating ISA accounts and transferring (Nationwide)
I asked Nationwide about transferring my 2 old nationwide ISAs into a new one (and also opening a new one for current year's money). I got this answer and find it a bit disappointing that I'm being discouraged to do it online, that's why I messaged them to check whether the way I was doing it was correct. You could even…

spouse to spouse ISA transfer on death. Impossible
My husband and I each had a fixed term isa with BM, due to mature in a year and at 5%. He died in february this year. BM will not allow a transfer of his isa to my isa and have now put his isa in an account paying 0.05%. They say that they cannot transfer as my account is fixed rate over fixed term. The only thing I can do…

ISA 2015/16 and early Transfers
I guess this is a general question, but I will relate it to my specific case. I am looking for a home for my 2015/16 ISA and I thought the Leeds BS was offering an attractive product. Is it possible to also transfer earlier (maturing) cash ISAs so my account balance is over £40k? I have never transferred an ISA between…

First time buyer saving & help to buy isas..
Hi all, Long story short I'm trying to save for my first house. Got approx £7.5k at the minute and saving usually in the region of £750 a month. Up until now I've just been using a pretty poor savings account which as of this month has had it's rate reduced to 0.5%. I've had a look round and can obviously do better - I…

ISA - help please!
Hi all, I've only just realised that I opened a new ISA in August 2013 but never transferred my money. The new ISA now has a very poor interest rate. My question is, do I still have to transfer my money, or can I close is & then shop around for the current best buy? Thanks, C

Switching to a passive portfolio
Morning all, I've just completed my first full year of paying into a S&S ISA and have learned a lot of things from it - primarily that I probably should have taken a more passive route to saving. That's largely come from the fact that I understand now that I don't have the time to stay up to date with all of the goings on…

ISA's TAX Free?
I don't believe any mention has been made in Money Saving Expert about the TAX FREE element of ISA's when the holder dies because it can come as a shock that they suddenly lose there TAX FREE status and become part of the holders estate with all its implications. The Government give with one hand and take away with the…

Consolidating accounts: Debit appears days before credit!
I have two Cash ISAs with Santander and via online bankling put in a request on 6th April to consolidate them by transferring all funds out of one and into the other. I put the date that this was to happen as 7th April. The money disappeared from the source account promptly on 7th April, but as of the evening of 8th April…

£2700 in 2% ISA (declining rate) - Switch to Santander 123?
Hi all, I have a £2700 in an ISA that (now) pays 2% providing I pay into it each month. The rate seems to be declining month on month. With the new changes to savings, should I bother keeping this money in the ISA tax-free wrapper, or just transfer it to my Santander 123 current account? This would mean that my current…
