Hi, help needed! My car was stolen last night, thief came in my house and stole my spare car key. Car was recovered a couple of roads down. Critical Illness insurance for spouse?
I get CI insurance for myself and my wife through my benefits package at work. It's pretty cheap for me, slightly less cheap for my wife, even though I'm covered for twice as much as her. It costs £17.25/month to cover her (mid-40s, non-smoker) for £50,000, and £9.90/month to cover myself for £100,000. We also both have…

Hi All, Just wanted a bit of advice regarding car insurance. I paid for my car insurance in full at the beginning of February. Now I have just bought a new car, and I get it on Friday, so will need to update my car insurance. Obviously this will incur a charge for admin... I was wondering if I would be better to get a new…

Should I pay for the damage or claim? Will my premium go up?
I recently went into the back of a car who had suddenly stopped on a blind corner. There was slight scuffs to the back of his rear car and damage to the front of my vehicle. I took multiple shots of the bumper and the gaps around it to show no signs of buckling. We exchanged details and I mentioned that I didn't want to go…

Hello everyone, This is my first time posting on here. I lost my wallet on Saturday night and had £195.00 in there :-(. I am thinking of claiming it on my home insurance as a personal loss. I am with the Bank of Scotland and my Home Insurance policy states that I am personaly covered for losing up to £500.00 in my home or…

Motorcycle Crash - Claim Advice
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. Last week I came off my motorcycle on the ice riding down my street, only going 15MPH on the corner. The bike slid a little way but did bump in to a parked car with the driver in. Only damage was a scratch about 6 inch long, will need a re-spray. Nice chap we both agreed to skip…

Home Insurance when Selling
Hi All I am thinking about selling my house and I wondered if I need to tell my Home Insurer that the property will be for sale. If I do this, what impact will it have on my premium. If my exchange takes place in March 2013 and my insurance ends in February 2013, how do I cover the remaining month if I intend to move into…

Cheap Insurance quotes
Apparently according to a post on another site people are getting significantly cheaper quotes from the Ford Insure site. Ford use RSAL and they don't appear to restrict quoting to Fords only. In a quote example, one customer was paying over £2k and has just got a quote for £700. If your Insurance is due or you are in a…

Car insurance - how does voluntary excess work?
hi all - in December 2011 after not having had a car for 10 years and therefore no insurance, I was fortunate to be given a car. Obviously I had no no-claims and as a 40-something woman ended up paying around £700 and having to go to an insurer who specialised in people who didn't have any no claims or recent insurance…

Natwest Phone Insurance
So, I'm covered on my phone through my bank for accidental damage and theft. When my phone broke I told them the situation and they said that I'd be liable for a claim. All I'd have to do is send a proof of purchase i.e. receipt along with a claim number and they said that I'd here from them within 3 weeks. 5 weeks later…

House Insurance -unoccupied 30 days plus
My house insurance covers me for a maxium of 30 days if the property is unoccupied. I am going on a way for 40 days. If I inform the insurance company, are they likely to ask for more money or say my property is not covered? Should I just get my daughter to come and stay for a night while I am away to solve the problem?

Car insurance: Privilege? RAC?
It's renewal time again and I've been checking out other possibilities against LV's renewal quote. Both Privilege and RAC are coming up well, and I was just wondering if anyone who has had experience with either or both could comment on how good/bad they are in the event of needing to claim. Thank you!

CGU Life advice please
Hello I would really appreciate it if someone could advise me on a life insurance policy I took out in the Year 2000 with CGU Life through a finacial adviser who does not practice anymore.
