My neighbour's dad died recently and she needs to know if he had life insurance. No paperwork was found but she is sure he had a policy. Is there any way to check? maybe a database held somewhere. The only thing i can think of is writing to every company but there are hundreds of them.

Choice of car insurers - advice please
It's that old question of insuring young drivers again, but from a slightly different angle. I have been through the comparison sites and online quote systems for all the popular insurers and have quotes for my 17yo daughter (on her own car - Peugeot 206sw 1.4ltr) ranging from acceptable to ridiculous. Having read at depth…

Best UK based Insurance Company
What would people say is the best Insurance company for home and motor insurance. I don't care about the cost. If you rate a good insurance company on a cost basis then you will end up in Indian call center hell. I want UK based with UK call centers that pays decent money to their staff with good service. Do I need life assurance?
I'm in the fortunate position of having nearly paid off my mortgage and also have in service death benefits of three times my salary (which is fairly high) from my employers if I die before I retire. Why are the quotes getting more and more expensive?
Hi, I have used different comparison sites for insurance quotes for a Ford Focus, which I haven't bought yet. I have no idea why but everytime I ask for a quote for more or less the same type of car (same mileage, registration year etc.), it keeps getting more expensive! 2 months ago, the cheapest quote was about £850 but…
