Confused about car insurance

Hello, I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me with something. I'm 20 and in my first year of driving, I've been insured with the same insurer for about 7 months but I can get my insurance cheaper if I move. What I need to know is do I lose the no claims bonus I'm trying to build if I move, as in can you only get a NCB through having a year under one insurer or does it carry on and if I move will I then not get a NCB even after my first year of driving is done? Thanks alot in advance

It'll be best to see out the year to get your NCB, if you leave to go to another you will loose your 7 months of experiance.

you need to keep the policy until the end of the year otherwise you won't get the benefit of the year's NCB. If you cancel and move to a new provider you will start from zero again now. The NCB year is per provider.

Car insurance is an annual contract, you will have to pay your present insurer the full year. (even if you are paying monthly)
They may give you a small refund if you cancel.
NCB is only for full years with the same company.
