help with question on AVIVA life assurance form pls.

I am currently completing AVIVA form for hubby and have some questions about a question asked.

With regards to 'activities and other life applications', it asks to tick the activities that he takes part in.

Last year he went on a red letter driving day where he drove rally cars. Does this class as an activity? He only did it once and has no plans to do it again. Although he does like watching racing.

Does this mean that if he dies in 10 years time and the cause of death is an accident on a red letter driving day, they will refuse to pay out because we didnt disclose it?

I mean, if we ticked no to all activities and then in the future he takes up diving and dies from this, then they wont pay up because we didnt declare this activity?

What is there definition of activity? I would think it is something that you regularly do?

Also, with regards to alcohol consumption, my husband rarely drinks. It doesnt mean he is teetotal, just that he goes months without touching the stuff and then at an event he'll have some.
What do I put down? Maybe to be on the safe side, I should put one unit a week?

    Sorry, I have another question.

My husband is currently a self employed software developer/programmer but due to the recession hasnt had much paying work recently.

If he decides to do some other work next year or soon do we have to inform AVIVA of his change in job?

He was thinking of doing some security work next month but I dont see the point in putting that down as it's not his profession and it would just be temporary.

    Thanks

Theyre not interested in red letter days. Neither are they interested in if you went on holiday and went diving.

Activities means things that you persue. So if your husband had a rally car and went rally driving once a week or once a month they would want to know. Just completed the application as honestly as you can, if your husband has no alcohol apart from special occasions (presuming you cant add that) then just put 1 or 2 units on average per week. It only starts getting dodgy when you get close to 30-40 units per week going off memory.

As for the security work, i dont think they ask for occupation unless you have whats called waiver of premium. So i dont think this will effect the application anyway.

No. If he actively pursues a sport or activity mentioned then you should put it in.IF he has done it in the past but has no intention of doing it again you normally wouldn't put it in.

Life insurance is underwritten at the point of application, therefore in most normal circumstances a change of job will make no difference whatsoever.
