Morgage protection & ASU Cover
Hi All, Hopefully someone can clarify this for me. I have read on this forum that you can only have one ASU policy, as the policy holders seem to reducing the amount to £1000 a month, this is not enough to cover my mortgage and outgoings, bills etc. Does a Mortgage protection policy taken out with the Mortgage ledor count…

ASU Cover Increase - Can you beat it?
Hi All, I have just been informed by Assurant Solutions (Ant Insurance) that my unemployment cover has been increased from £53.00 a month to £102.60 a month. Unfortunately for me they had "mailing issues" and were unable to give me 30 days notice. As increases go, its a bit of a whopper and has left me feeling mugged! Can…

Limit for car insurance claim
Quick question. Is there a time limit whereby someone can make a motor claim against you? The background is that last month I have a very minor accident where someone drove into the back of me after a bit or "argee bargee" in a filtering situation. Luckily I have a tow bar so they didn't touch my bodywork. They drove into…

Quick 'no claims' question
I had a car accident this year - someone drove into my car whilst it was parked. The driver owned up to it, and I claimed on my insurance. All the costs of the repair were claimed back from the 3rd party. Should this affect my no claims bonus?

Can I Surrender Endowment To Part Pay Off Mortgage While Receiving Benefits?
Hi All. Like most people's endowments mine has performed badly. It's a 25 year policy with 5 years left to run and I expect the shortfall to be around £18,000. It would be better to surrender the policy now and use the money to pay off more than half of my mortgage. But if I do this will I violate any DWP rules (£6,000…

Laptop insurance
Where should I look for laptop insurance? I'm a student about to go to uni, and I have a £550 laptop + £150 camera as the only significant items. Endsleigh would insure these for virtually everything + a more limited room insurance for £64/year. Can this be beaten, even if it only insures the laptop?
