O2 Mobile Phone insurance RUBBISH

Hi

I have been paying my O2 insurance for my Blackberry for over 6 months. My phone now has water damage and does not work properly. I have been waiting 3 weeks now for my phone to come back in stock and have been told every week that it is due in the next day etc blah blah blah. Is this reasonable? Should I tell them to stuff it and take my chances with my half broken phone as I am paying £6 per month (12months still to go til upgrade) and have to pay £25 excess? Or is this reasonable behavior?
Any advice gratefully received!

Thanks

    Hi
My OH had this insurance - he damaged the screen and had it fixed reasonably quickly (he had to pay the excess) then a few months later he dropped it down the loo (dont ask) and they told him the insurance doesnt cover water damage....(he didnt tell them the loo incident, just that he dropped it in a bucket of water)
Did you tell them it was water damage? It could be that they are investigating the cause of the damage as to whether they will do the replacement and thats why they are fobbing you off? Just be careful u dont get landed with a bill. I personally think this insurance is a rip off - theres so much it doesnt cover - my OH ended up cancelling it and is now waiting for his contract to end for a new phone.
  • Thanks for the reply hun. They say they know it's water damage and it's covered...? I have written to complain and if they don't sort it by end of next week I am gonna cancel the insurance, go down to a regular contact and say goodbye to facebook and emails on my phone! But it's probably a good thing with money being so tight at the mo!

    Thanks again.
    Have a good weekend!

Check that cancelling won't invalidate your claim.

You might as well hang on till it's repaired then you will be able to sell it if you are set on no longer using it.
  • I mean if they don't give me a discount on the excess/rest of the years insurance I will cancel it all and take my chances with my half broken phone and old one.
Thanks for taking the time to reply :T
