Changing a Leaking Ceramic Tap Cartridge
We have leaking tap in the bathroom. I managed to work out the correct cartridge and how to disconnect the water. However I'm finding it impossible to unscrew the old cartridge. I've used WD40 and brute force but it won't budge. I'm also trying to make sure I don't damage the rest of the tap. Any other ideas would welcome.

Terminating builders contract
Hi I've had ongoing problems with my builder for months, turning up when he felt like it, some of the work poor quality, leaving us without facilities for months and sometimes leaving the property unsecured!! Electric radiators
Hi there. I know there are a lot of discussions on these in the past but I am completely stuck. I have removed 30 year old storage heaters and would like electric radiators because storage heaters don't match my lifestyle, I work long days and don't have a set routine. I would like wifi controlled radiators and have come…

Multi fuel burner question
Hi I wonder if anyone can help please. I've been looking for the best coal to use on a multi fuel burner and came across a site that said you shouldn't mix two different fuels together in the fire ie wood and coal. It said it could damage the flue liner. I couldn't see anything about it on other sites.

Wall tiles came off and won't fit back on
Hi Several wall tiles buckled outwards and I had to remove them, behind my cooker and further along on the same wall. Would this happen if they weren't put on properly in the first place? Meaning they weren't spaced out enough? Trying to put them back in I will need to cut two of them as there is insufficient space. I…

Damp and mould issues?
Hi all. We live in a town house constructed in approx 1870. We've been in the house a few years now and have started noticing a few issues that are getting bigger. Is this Kitchen Laminate Worktop joint acceptable?
We are having a new kitchen fitted. The worktop is L shaped and therefore requires a mitered joint. In the 12 year old kitchen we have just ripped, which had a very similar granite effect laminate worktop, the joint was almost invisible and was smooth to the touch all along the joint. The new worktop has a more visible…

Oil Vs water based woodstain
Several years ago I had a new front door constructed. The joiner put on 3 coats of Sikkens Cetol Fiter 7 Plus - an oil based woodstain. This year I had new window frames constructed. Different joiner as the 1st one had retired. I asked for the same woodstain, to match the front door. After installation it transpired he'd…

Planning help - care home at end of garden.
Hi all, After many years saving up, myself and my fianc! have just (August) bought our first house. It is perfect, but nothing grand and we bought it as we loved to country feel, the views and the south facing garden. We are now slightly concerned as a planning application for a 3 storey care home has been made for the…
