Hi. Was hoping someone might hjelp. i have a vokera linea 24 combi boiler. i have homecare with sse who have recently fitted a new plate heat exchanger. this was due to the hot water running hot then cold. this has partly fixed the problem but the boiler is still locking out every so often, even with the central heating on. It seems to happen most often when no heating or hot water has been running but the preheat function kicks in and cause the lock out. The error code is 01 which is failure to ignite. Does anyone have any pointers as i have had engineers out before but they dont know whats wrong.

Could be the ignition probe (they do wear out but usually take a long time). As they sit in the flame when ignited they can bend which makes the gap between the tip of the probe and the point where they are "striking" too large and you do not get a spark. Or it could be the gas valve with an intermittent fault. Either way you need a suitably qualified and registered (Gas Safe) engineer to look at it, diagnose the correct fault, then supply and fit the correct part(s).0

I have a service agreement with SSE but when they come out the boiler invariably works and they just say its ok they cant find anything. Do you know if the wind could affect the opeartion of the boiler?0

We have the same boiler and it is around 11yrs old. It was doing exactly the same and we spoke to Vokera who passed us a number of the local specialist engineer. He knew straight away from what we described that it was the circuit boards inside and it was nearly £500 to replace. He advised us to take out the fixed repair plan with Vokera and they would replace anything needed. I think it was around £250. It has worked faultlessly since. That was around 3 years ago.
If you ring Vokera they are really helpful.
