I have a pond at the end of my garden which has outdoor power sockets nearby to plug in the pump and lights. The power for this comes from an outdoor socket attached to the house. I can see where the cable comes from that socket and in to the ground but I have no idea of the route it takes to the power outlet near the…

bathroom repairs - is this theft

Wax stuck in wood grain?
I dyed my oak doors black with Liberon Spirit Wood Dye (after sanding as advised) and have used Liberon Bison Wax to protect and finish the wood, but the wax has left lines on the door like it's stuck in the grain (the wax was neutral shade but shows up white in these lines). I've only applied the wax to one door, any…

Do yours roll from the rear or front?
I've just had a roller blind fitted by Hilary's and because the bracket he brought was shorter than the other blinds I have in my house, the blind snagged on the window handles, so to get over it he turned the roller round so it rolled down from the front... For those that have roller blinds fitted, are they front or rear…

Cost of Installing Mains Pressure hot Water Cylinder
What's the typical cost of installing a mains pressure hot water cylinder to replace a vented one? The cylinders seem to cost about £500~600 with all the valves etc. Due to building regs & approval, sadly it seems DIY installation is a no-no. What's the typical cost of having them installed and registered by a plumber?

Rim locks/Internal door mechanisms
Apologies if I use incorrect terminology in this thread.... I am looking to replace the door mechanism on an internal door which wasn't working. Its what I think is called a rim lock (i.e. mounted onto the door rather than the mechanism being contained 'within' the door). What am I best doing - replacing like for like, or…
