New skirting boards....which grit sandpaper please

Sorry, but i havent a clue when it comes to preparing wood. We have just had new skirting boards fitted and really just need to know what grit sandpaper i need to buy. Thanks in advance, Denise

The higher the number, the more grains in the sand paper, anything over 100+ should be fine, but for wood i'd recommend 180 and upwards.0

I had looked and thought either 240 or 320 but just wasnt sure and it was wet and dry I was looking at, so unsure if that was correct either.0

You would usually use a wet sand paper type for sanding metals, for wood, dry sandpaper with a grit content of 180+ will be fine for your skirting boards.0
