Dampness / Condensation in corner of room.
Hi Folks, I bought an appartment just under a year ago and although most things have been good, there have been problems with a very small area on the ceiling having dampness or condensation on it, following the coldness during the night. The corner of the room is on a gable wall and would experience a lot of coldness.…

Lino Problem
Hi, We had some lino fitted a few days ago and it all seemed to be fine. I had to move the washing machine as the kitchen fitter (just had new kitchen fitted as well) had left the water off. When I moved the washer back again there's a "wave" in the lino. The lino seems to still fit OK in that the edges of the lino are up…

Can someone please point me in the right direction. My bathroom is fully tiled and the grouting right at the top of the wall (where it meets the ceiling) keeps cracking and looks unsightly. I've tried filling with the Polyfilla in a tube type stuff but it cracks again after a few months. Is it possible to get a "filla"…

Bleach stain on natural marble tiles
On behalf of a friend: Cillit Bang was used on some natural marble floor tiles and, presumably due to the bleach content, they are damaged (discoloured). I guess this is because natural marble is porous. Is there any way to fix it without replacing the tiles?

Piling or Standard Foundations

Breaking up a concerete
We recently moved into a new house in which the front garden was covered in stone chippings, under which I assumed was earth. Unfortunately, my assumption was wrong and although there is a margin of about 12 " or so of earth at the side, the rest has been concreted over. I'd like to get some things planted and would like…
