Hi all. We have awful mould in our bathroom so I disinfected all the walls and surfaces and was about to paint the walls and ceiling. We live in a rented house (cold and spot-heated, hence the mould problem). I noticed that the carpet looked very old, and thought it might be harbouring damp and spores so I ripped it up,…

Sash window restoration. Plus: finding home improvement professionals
We have original wood sash windows in our flat and some of them are drafty. We've heard we could have them 'restored' to help solve this, but does it work? I've heard it can be up to £800 per window which sounds incredibly expensive.... Does anyone have any advice? For instance, should we see a specialist (we live in South…

New fridge Freezer
This morning I found my fridge freezer had decided to take the night off. I changed the fuse and twiddled it's knobs and it came back to life. Laminate flooring in bathrooms
Hi everyone! just wondered if anyone knew if laminate flooring in a bathroom would be ok? I loved my slow cooker. It has been the handiest thing I ever bought. I was taking it out of the cupboard to use it, when the lid slipped and smashed into a myriad of fragments. You would not believe how far the glass can travel when it smashes. Is there any way of getting a replacement lid instead of buying a whole…
