slow cooker

I loved my slow cooker. It has been the handiest thing I ever bought. I was taking it out of the cupboard to use it, when the lid slipped and smashed into a myriad of fragments. You would not believe how far the glass can travel when it smashes. Is there any way of getting a replacement lid instead of buying a whole new slow cooker. It was just out of the 5 year accident guarantee.

We had the same problem and found that one of our saucepan lids fitted a treat, so we used it as a temporary measure.

That was almost a year ago and we are still using it.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

I can imagine how fed up you're feeling and especially when the cooker is fit and well. How about writing a begging letter to the manufacturer and explaining what happened and singing the praises of their cooker. I'm sure they'll be able to help and it might be worth trying. Good luck and hope you managed to collect all the glass safely.

Hi, I was 'gifted' a brand new morphy richards slow cooker with a broken lid. contacted the manufacturer but was able to order a replacement one online. If yours is the same make a can't see you having a problem. Can't state the size of mine, just that it's huge!! It cost me £9 ish for the lid but it's the cheapest huge slow cooker i've ever had and i make some scrummy things in it. Hope this helps:o

I had a slow cooker for years and used a (spare) glass microwave turntable - worked perfectly - possibley better as you could see the contents. Then my Dad's slow cooker died and he gave me his lid - perfect solution!
