Potterton Suprima 120L Locking out!!!!

Hi

Hopefully someone can help me. We have a Potterton Suprima 120L boiler with a Megaflow tank for the hot water and and Feed and expansion tank.

It is a bit long but please bear with me:

About a 2 weeks ago the boiler started locking out (red flashing light and boiler not firing). Had a corgi registered plumber come out to look at it and he said PCB needs replacing. Replaced the PCB and the boiler started to fine. But on only for a couple of days. Then the same locking out started happening. Called the plumber out again and he checked the boiler and said the boiler is fine, so there must be an airlock somewhere in the system.

He suggested bleeding the radiators and see if that helps. I bleed all the radiators but that did not help. Then he suggested to drain the whole system out and refill.

Instead of draining the system, I tried to backfill the system as I was hoping to get rid of the airlock by pushing it out of the feed and expansion tank. This did not work for me as while doing the backfill the hosepipe connected to the drain point came out and started draining the system.

Gave up on the backfill and started to refill the system. At this point I tried to fire up the boiler, the boiler did start, however after about a minute, started making a loud knocking noise and then just went on stanby. At this point the boiler was very hot to touch. Googling suggested that there might be someblockage it the system now.

Traced the blockage to the stop valve coming out of the feed tank by draining the system completely, it had a lot of gunge logded in the valve. Cleaned this valve, fitted it back. Refilled the system, and started the boiler and seemed to all work well, but then again the boiler started locking out again.

So after all of that, it seems I am back to the original symptom.

I am not sure what else I can do, I cannot keep calling out the plumber, becoming quite expensive (alreay paid over £200), and also he is away on holiday for three weeks now.

Can anybody suggest anything else I should try???:confused:

HELP!!
