Weather Compensator for Gas Boiler
We are having a Valliant combi boiler installed. I noticed on Valliant website that they have a weather compensator device. Is this just a gimmick or will it make savings? Also, i would be grateful if someone could explain exactly what it does.

How to build own slow cooker?
Would like to use a slow cooker to save money, particularly as I could run it overnight when we have cheap electricity. DH reckons they are easy to build yourself, as the heating element is little more than a light bulb. Any one any ideas/experiences? TIA!

Painting fresh plaster ceiling
Hi guys I've just had my ceiling replastered over artex (no one could apparently repair the small amount of damage to the artex and this was the only option) Unlike fresh plaster on a wall, this is only a thin layer and so has dried out really quickly. So now it's time to paint it and I've had a couple of recommendations.…

Ideas for Bathroom & Hall Flooring??
My dark north-facing flat presently has light oak finish laminate flooring in the living areas (kitchen/ sitting room/ office-dining room), which I like. It also has light oak veneer doors throughout, which makes the flat very 'woody' so I don't really want to add any more. :o I then have beige carpet in the bedroom and…
