Ideas for Bathroom & Hall Flooring??

My dark north-facing flat presently has light oak finish laminate flooring in the living areas (kitchen/ sitting room/ office-dining room), which I like. It also has light oak veneer doors throughout, which makes the flat very 'woody' so I don't really want to add any more.
I then have beige carpet in the bedroom and central hall, and beige vinyl sheet in the bathroom. I don't like either but will keep the bedroom carpet as it's still in good condition. This leaves the hall and bathroom flooring which I'd like to be light coloured/ warm coloured (neither room has a window), washable (cos we are mucky pups!
) and fairly modern looking.
There is about nine square metres to be covered, but the hall is a very wonky L-shape so with anything flooring that comes in one piece there would be a lot of waste. What I'd really really like is travertine marble tiles, but I can't afford to buy and have them fitted (too much cutting for an amateur). I also love the gloss porcelain floor tiles in B&Q; not a fan of any other tile I have seen in the DIY sheds.
Concerned that tiles would be very cold, and underfloor heating would only add to the cost (I would install it if money were no object/ I could find cheap flooring I liked). Vinyl sheet seems inappropriate for a hall, carpet wrong in a bathroom, and I already have six wooden doors coming off my hall AND light oak veneer furniture so does not need more wood!
Am I just being awkward or have I missed a gem of a product that will not be prohibitively expensive? I would be totally happy to spend £200 (including fitting if not for beginners!), maybe another £100 for the perfect product or for underfloor heating as well.

karndean ... it fab and cost effective if you have a 'wonky' shape to cover as very little wastage!! It is really hard wearing too and comes in loads of different shades and you can design you own pattern with it .... a bit like you can do with tiles if you are keen!0

Another vote for Karndean! We've got the ceramic look da vinci tiles in our conservatory and I still love it two years on. I would like to put it in our hallway when we've got a bit more money - I like the wood effect tiles they do too, they look exactly like wood but with all the practicality of vinyl. Marvellous stuff

definately DON'T go for porcelain/tiles as they WILL be cold in an already cold room! i had them fitted in my (cold) bathroom and now regret it!
I am looking at replacing so this kardean looks interesting. Question: can you have underfloor heating with it?
cheers0 -

Does it come as a sheet or in planks like wood? am i right in thinking it is similar to vinyl?
does anyone know its price compared to real wood?
You'll find everything you need to know here on Karndean's website, picture gallery too. IIRC you have to have their own fitters or trained by them or something. Don't know the price but if you do a search on here for Karndean other people have been singing it's praises. Apparently more expensive than vinyl but supposedly worth the extra.0 -
An alternative to Karndean is Amtico. We had it fitted in our en-suite last year and are 100% pleased with the result. We originally intended to go for Karndean but went for Amtico because it was slightly cheaper and of similar quality.Good choice of design too.0
